Please DO NOT use the restrooms belonging to the schools where the fields are located. The region does not have a permit for this and after some recent complaints/incidents, our continued use of the fields is in question.

Soccer parents are not allowed to use parking area, used by the ESP parents. Soccer parents should not be using the ESP parking area to drop off.

Please practice away from the fencing so that the balls do not end up in the neighbors’ yards and under no circumstances should the players be climbing the fence to retrieve balls.  The region will lose use of the fields if this occurs.

McDonald’s Corporation
along with Chivas USA would like to have our AYSO children escort the Chivas players onto the field for the balance of their home games. For more information, follow this link.

Everything you need to know about spring soccer in Region 117

PLAYERS: Boys and Girls born August 1, 1989 through July 31, 2002 are eligible to play. Spring Soccer is only for divisions U-8 through U-19. Your child may play up a division if he or she will be moving up in the fall of 2009. Example: if your child played division U-10 in the fall of 2008, he or she may play in the division U-12 in the spring.

TO PARTICIPATE: Spring Select Soccer is a coach select team. We cannot guarantee a spot on a team. Only those players chosen by coaches will play.  If you know a coach, let him or her know of your interest in playing.    This process begins now and will run no later January 15, 2009. To put your child on a list for coaches to choose from, you must email the registrar at Registrar117soccer@earthlink.net.  Please include your child's name, gender, phone number, birth date and what division the child would like to play in spring.  If you already know which coach you will be playing for, please include that information as well.

FEE & COST: The registration fee is $15.00 for players in all divisions.  Any players who did not play in the fall of 2008 will have an additional $13.00 National registration fee.  Uniform fees are separate.  Coaches may contact uniform coordinator at brian@bricorservices.com.

COACHES & REFEREES: Coaching spring soccer is a privilege and only those coaches who have demonstrated the AYSO philosophies are eligible to coach in the spring. All-star teams should stay together to compete in spring select soccer.  Coaches may not recruit before December 15.  All Select teams (U10-U14) consist of any all-star players, and a maximum of 3 guest players (players who were not registered in the 2008 fall season).  U16 and U19 teams may have up to 5 guest players.  Other R117 players who were not all-stars may also play select.  Recreational teams consist of all other fall players and up to 3 all-star players.  Preference is given to Region 117 players.  If you are interested in coaching a team please email Bill Cottle, Spring Coordinator, at thecottles@verizon.net.  Coaches need to be certified and have their Save Haven Certificate.  Deadline:  Approved coaches need to submit player rosters to Bill Cottle and Registrar by January 30, 2009.

Spring is a very difficult season for scheduling referees.  Each team needs to provide a three-person referee team to be considered for registration.  If you are a referee and are willing to help, please email Bruce Bennett at RRA117@gmail.com with your information. It means a lot to the kids and to the program!  We appreciate and need your abilities.
